Montgomery Regional Airport, established in 1929, recently expanded its operations with the launch of the Airport Operations Department at the close of 2021. With a dynamic new team at the helm, the Operations Department is already making a mark in the aviation industry. 

Tasked with ensuring the airfield’s adherence to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, the Airport Operations Department conducts rigorous daily and nightly inspections and focuses on wildlife management, all while prioritizing the safety of travelers. 

The department’s outstanding work has not gone unnoticed. Recently, Montgomery Regional Airport earned accolades from the Alabama Asphalt Pavement Association for the Taxiway Alpha West Rehabilitation and Hot Spot Correction projects. This recognition highlights the department’s crucial role in planning, inspecting, and executing these significant projects. 

Montgomery Regional Airport’s Operations Department has swiftly established itself as a cornerstone of aviation excellence. Guided by the principle, “Do what is right even when no one is watching,” the team’s commitment to integrity and high standards is evident. With six highly skilled employees, including licensed pilots, aviation management graduates from Embry-Riddle and Auburn University, and passionate aviation enthusiasts, the department is a blend of experience and dedication. 

Looking ahead, the Operations Department is set to enhance its expertise through additional on-the-job training and participation in industry conferences across the USA. They are also preparing for the annual Part 139 Certification Inspection while pursuing further aviation certifications.
